Nvidia Hdmi 51 Audio Out

It is pretty neat the Nvidia driver refuses to pass any 51. The Nvidia card has a display port to HDMI adapter which I use to connect to the HDMI audio extractor which sends the HDMI on to the HDTV.

I have windows 81 lenovo laptop with nvidia GT 650 M graphics card latest Sony TV and 2 year old Sony 51 home theatre.

Nvidia hdmi 51 audio out. I have connected my laptop to the TV thru HDMI and TV to the 51 home theatre thru optical audio cable. My cable box and bluray player are both set to pass dolby digital encoded audio over HDMI and the TV sends this along to the surround sound system without issues. My TV does support 51 passthrough.

But all the sound it ever gets is stereo. Enable 51 audio out over HDMI to TV Not quite sure what you mean. I have gone thru all the settings inside the control panel to get the 51 audio.

I too have similar issue. I plug a fireTV stick into the HDMI splitter and I get 51 Dolby out of the sound coaxial port on both the splitter and the HDTV so the hardware works. In the settings for the NVIDIA HD Audio while I can see Dolby Digital and DTS listed as a valid encoded format for the HDMI port I am not able to configure my speakers as 51.

The TV receiver is set to use the ARC audio output it has two options for audio format PCM and auto Ive left it on auto because I believe 51.
